Professor Oliver Schwarz

Oliver Schwarz is co-founder and Vice-Chairman of the not-for-profit Institute for Innovation & Valuation in Health Care (InnoVal^HC). He is a tenured full-time professor of economics and quantitative methods at the Heilbronn University (since 2006).

From 1999 to 2003 Oliver Schwarz worked for different pharmaceutical companies as targeting manager and as head of database marketing. From 2003 until 2006, he was a professor for database marketing and data mining at the University of Cooperative Education (Mannheim).

He studied economics with the area of specialization in statistics and econometrics at the University of Freiburg. After he completed his studies with a diploma (Diplom-Volkswirt), he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of General Economic Research, Department for Statistics and Econometrics (from 1991 to 1999).

He received his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. pol., summa cum laude, awarded with the Friedrich August von Hayek Prize) from the University of Freiburg in 1996.
