Heidelberg Health Economics Summer School 2024
This year´s Heidelberg Health Economics Summer School, a high-level, full week program offered by InnoValHC under the auspices of the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, will address the role of (health) economic evaluation in the regulatory context of formal Health Technology Assessments (HTAs).
The Summer School 2024 will move to a new site in the Dolomites – the NOI Techpark and NOBIS conference center, recently opened by the city of Bruneck-Brunico (Pustertal-Val Pusteria) in cooperation with the “Nature of Innovation” (NOI) network of research institutes rooted in South Tyrol / Italy and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, and will take place from September 23-27, 2024.
The Core Program of the Summer School 2024 will run from Monday through Friday, with an option to arrive on Monday morning. In addition to an intense scientific program, dedicated to “New Perspectives for Health Economics & Health Technology Assessments (HTAs)”, participants will be invited to a tour of the Bruneck-Brunico Castle with its Messner Mountain Museum – personally guided by Christian Tschurtschenthaler, the former mayor of Bruneck-Brunico. The scientific program on Thursday will take place at the LUMEN museum & event space on the summit plateau of the Kronplatz (2,275m above sea level), surrounded by spectacular views of the Dolomites.

Our unique Program will be strictly evidence-based and informed by the latest progress in health economics; a clear line will be drawn between facts and opinions, and there will be room for debate and critical review of popular arguments frequently brought forward in debates.
In addition, we offer an optional two day refresher; the Introductory Module will cover topics such as basics principles of decision analysis, valuation principles in economics as well as costing in theory and practice.

The Summer School 2024 is aimed for academics, physicians & pharmacists as well as professionals. The program will be most suitable for executives in senior commercial functions (e.g. Business Unit Directors), market access, and health policy-makers concerned with HTAs and economic evaluation.
